Add and verify your domain

Prove you own your domain with one TXT record.

Before a domain can send or receive mail on JK Mails, we need to know it is yours. This stops other people from claiming your domain. Nothing is switched on for the domain until it is verified.

1. Add the domain

Open Domains and enter your domain, for example yourcompany.com. Subdomains such as mail.yourcompany.com also work if you want mail on a subdomain only. How many domains you can add depends on your plan.

2. Add the verification TXT record

The domain page shows a record like this (your value is unique and shown on screen):

TypeName / HostValue
TXT_jkmails-verifyjkmails-verify=<your code>

Log in where your DNS is managed. That is your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, BigRock, Hostinger, Google Domains successors and so on) or a DNS service such as Cloudflare. Find DNS or DNS zone, choose Add record, pick type TXT, and copy the name and value from our page.

  • Some providers want the full name _jkmails-verify.yourcompany.com; others add your domain automatically, so you type only _jkmails-verify. If one form fails, try the other.
  • Paste the value exactly. Do not add quotes unless your provider requires them, and do not wrap or add spaces.
  • Leave the TTL on automatic or the lowest option.

3. Verify

Press Verify now on the domain page. DNS changes usually show within minutes, but can take up to a few hours. If it says the record is not found yet, wait ten minutes and try again. A domain that is not verified within 72 hours is removed from your account automatically; you can simply add it again.

Common problems

  • "This domain is already registered by another account." If the domain is yours, open a support request and tell us the domain. We will ask you to prove ownership.
  • Record not found. Check the name for typos, the leading underscore, and that you added it to the DNS host that is actually used by your domain (look at your domain's nameservers).
  • Cloudflare: TXT records are never proxied, so there is nothing to switch off.

Next: add the mail DNS records.
