Connect Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird and phones

IMAP, POP3 and SMTP settings for any mail app.

Any app that supports IMAP and SMTP works with JK Mails. If you added the optional autoconfig and autodiscover records, most apps fill in everything after you type your address and password. Otherwise use these settings:

SettingValue
UsernameYour full email address, for example asha@yourcompany.com
PasswordThe mailbox password
Incoming server (IMAP)mail.jksoftwares.in, port 993, SSL/TLS
Outgoing server (SMTP)mail.jksoftwares.in, port 465, SSL/TLS (or port 587 with STARTTLS)
POP3 (only if you must)mail.jksoftwares.in, port 995, SSL/TLS
AuthenticationNormal password, for both incoming and outgoing. SMTP always requires a login.

Use the server name mail.jksoftwares.in exactly as shown for incoming and outgoing mail, not your own domain. The connection is encrypted and the certificate is issued for that name.

IMAP or POP3? Choose IMAP. It keeps your mail on the server and in sync on every device. POP3 downloads mail to one device and is only for special cases.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Settings, then Mail, Accounts, Add Account, Other, Add Mail Account.
  2. Enter name, address, password. Choose IMAP and fill in the servers above for incoming and outgoing.
  3. Save. Mail, and optionally Notes, sync.

Android (Gmail app or Outlook app)

  1. Open Gmail, then Add another address, then Other. (In Outlook: Add account, then IMAP.)
  2. Enter your address and password, choose personal (IMAP), and fill in the servers above.

Outlook for Windows and Mac

  1. File, Add Account. Enter your address and choose Advanced options, then Let me set up my account manually, then IMAP.
  2. Enter the server settings above and the password.

Thunderbird, Apple Mail on Mac

Type your name, address and password. If the autoconfig record is in place the settings fill in automatically; otherwise choose Configure manually and use the table.

Calendars and contacts

JK Mails includes calendars and address books in webmail. To use them in your phone or computer apps, add a CalDAV/CardDAV account for https://mail.jksoftwares.in/SOGo/dav/ with your email address and password. For phone sync with Exchange-style apps use the server mail.jksoftwares.in (ActiveSync). Most phones are simpler with the built-in "Exchange" or "CalDAV" account type.

It does not connect?

Check that the username is the full address, the server is mail.jksoftwares.in, and the ports and SSL settings match. Then see Troubleshooting.
