Quick start: from sign-up to your first email

The six steps from a new account to a working mailbox.

You can have a working mailbox in about fifteen minutes, plus whatever time your domain's DNS needs to update. The steps in order:

  1. Create your account. Sign up with your email address, then click the link we send you. The link works for 3 days; you can ask for a new one on the login page.
  2. Add your domain. In Domains, enter the domain you own, for example yourcompany.com. Do not include www or https://.
  3. Prove you own it. Add the one TXT record we show you at your domain registrar or DNS host, then press Verify now. See Add and verify your domain.
  4. Add the mail DNS records. MX tells the world where to deliver your mail. SPF, DKIM and DMARC make your outgoing mail trusted. The domain page lists each record with a Copy button and a live status. See DNS records explained.
  5. Create a mailbox. In Mailboxes, choose the address (such as info@yourcompany.com), a password and a size.
  6. Open it. Press Open webmail next to the mailbox, or connect your phone and computer with the settings in Connect Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird and phones.
Already have email somewhere else? Do not change your MX record yet. Read Move your existing email first, so no message is lost.

Stuck anywhere? Open a request from the Support tab. Tell us your domain and what you see on screen.
