Keep your account and mailboxes secure

Two-step verification, strong passwords and what to do if a mailbox is compromised.

Turn on two-step verification

Go to Security, press Turn on, scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator or similar) and enter the six-digit code. You then get recovery codes. Store them somewhere safe, offline if possible. Each code works once if you lose your phone. They are shown only one time.

Your JK Mails account controls your domains and mailboxes, so protecting it matters more than any single mailbox.

Passwords

  • Use a different long password for your account and for every mailbox. A password manager makes this easy.
  • Never reuse a password from another website.
  • Change a mailbox password immediately when someone leaves your team.

Signs that a mailbox is compromised

  • You see sent messages you did not write, or replies to messages you did not send.
  • Many bounce messages arrive for mail you never sent.
  • We email you that sending was limited or the account was paused.

What to do: set a new password for that mailbox in Mailboxes, change your account password, check forwarding rules and filters in webmail (attackers often add a forward to themselves), then contact support if sending was limited.

Phishing

We will never ask you for your password by email or in a support request. Check that the address bar shows our real domain before you log in.
